Finally, after trying 6 nights in a row. I drove from Federal Way to where I thought one might be hidden and only 1.6 miles (driving distance) to it when it published. My “Happy Dance” followed. There was a man sitting on the bench, which made wonder if it had already been found. But he was just smoking and reading his email. Never even noticed me. It was a frustrating adventure, but fun cuz I’m dedicated. TFT Adventure.

Park in the lot. Beware of ghoulish muggles. Take the path to the bench and the waters edge. Sit down. Listen to the branches of the trees and imagine the lost soul calling you from the crook of the tree. Spoiler: it's in the crook of the tree (not under the bench).

In 1871 an insane asylum opened at Ft Steilacoom in the area that is now Fort Steilacoom Park. The original building has been demolished. However, there remain 3,218 hospital residents buried in the nearby cemetery. The history of the hospital tells stories of frontal lobotomies, mental wards that were secretly open for prostitution by the orderlies and brutal attacks on patients. Paranormal groups will ghost hunt at night after the park closes. Be careful and watch your step.

This historic hotel burned to the ground in 1888, and was rebuilt in around 1917 as both a hotel and headquarters for a nearby dam project.

Workers for the project stayed in the hotel for an extended period of time, and it appears that some of them enjoyed the accommodation so much that they stayed behind when they passed away.

Visitors and guests claim to have seen the apparition of a man in workman’s clothes in the basement, while a spectral figure has been seen standing on the main staircase.

In Room #021, which is currently in a state of disuse, there a claims of knocks, ghostly voices and disembodied footsteps during the night, even when the room is not being rented out.

The 92nd and 141st Air Refueling Wing Headquarters building, known as "the White House," is widely thought to be haunted by at least one ghost. Airmen have been known to proceed uneasily when called back to the office during the hours of darkness.

"If I ever forget something when I leave for the day, I pretty much wince when I realize I have to go back in there," said an Airman who works at the White House, preferring not to be named directly. "Once I get in there, I make sure to get out as fast as I can."

Mysterious footsteps can be heard in the hallways, computer monitors are found to be turned on when they were off beforehand and doors slam without explanation.

Fairchild's aircraft also come under ghostly influence. Tanker 58-0050, known as "Spook 50," appears to have its own unassigned personnel. Reports exist of unexplained shadows in an unoccupied cockpit and someone being in the boom pod. No one was there upon inspection. For these reasons, many Airmen prefer not to work on the aircraft.

A crew chief formerly stationed at Fairchild described hearing voices on the aircraft without any explanation. The voices were faint enough that no distinct words could be understood. However, the crew chief described that the voices were definitely human in nature. No one else was on the aircraft.

Regardless of true or imagined perspectives or opinions of the paranormal, Fairchild has certainly been the subject of many stories in its 71 years.

It has undergone a considerable amount of renovation work over the years with work being carried out in 1925, 1934 and then again in 2003.

It is said that the bridge is haunted by the restless spirit of a construction worker who was killed during the construction of a much smaller bridge which stood here before the current one.

Those who have seen him say that he is dressed in very old fashioned clothing and that sometimes he asks where all the native Americans went.

After a mad dash to the site, we searched and searched. Soon two other cachers joined our effort. We still couldn't find this sneaky hide. Someone stopped and asked if we lost an animal. No. We got on hands and knees and looked. 4 of us searched the shrubs at least 20 times each. Picture didn't help. Still no luck. Discouraged we asked for help. Still no luck. We felt like we were turning into popsicles. 95+ minutes and we were ready to give up and leave when one of us looked down and said is this it? Yeah we found it! Time to head home as it was starting to rain.

cron publish 11 months 4 weeks ago 058 - Sibyl

Canal St, Palmyra, NY, US

Built in 1826 as a two-unit rental property along the booming original Erie Canal, which at that time, was just across Canal Street, the downstairs was home to many retail businesses throughout the years. From bakeries to taverns to grocery stores, selling the wares delivered on boats coming down the canal, with the upstairs serving as a boarding house.

William and Catherine Phelps purchased the building in 1868. The open their general store downstairs and turned the second and third floors into their home with their son Julius. William and Catherine died in the min 1900's and their son continued to live in and run the store with his wife Mary "Mayme" Aldrich. In 1895, Julius and Mary had a daughter, Sybil.

In 1921, Sybil enrolled in the Eastman School of Music, where she dreamed of the stage. She left to travel the world, but returned home in 1926 broke. The Phelps family lost all their money during the depression.

Sybil turned to Spiritualism, which was founded in Arcadia, NY by the Fox Sisters. Said to even have a crystal ball, Sybil seemed more content conversing with spirits than sharing life with the living. She became a recluse, and for the local children, she was believed to be a witch and someone they feared. An animal lover, she surrounded herself with furry friends, reportedly having up to 15 cats at one time.

In 1940, Julius locked the doors to the general store, leaving a curious retail time capsule. Upstairs, lacking any remodeling, you’ll find the elegant Phelps’ family home with post-Civil War furnishings and Victorian splendor, unspoiled by electricity or indoor plumbing, where Sibyl Phelps resided until her passing in 1976.

Sybil has been seen and heard on many occasions wandering around, not wanting anything to be touched. Julius is thought to be haunting the sick room on the second floor, where he spent the last few days of his life.

A more unusual ghost is that of a cat. Many times museum staff have seen a cat run into the building, only to find no evidence of a cat.

Another ghost is that of a young girl named Holly. No one knows why she is there, but is often spotted hiding under a table.

A tragic tale is that of the Market Street Fire of 1964. Seven people died, including six children. Ruth Anne Breedan and her 6 children died in the fire This fire was right next to the Phelps General Store and could account of ghostly children being seen in the area.

This building is the oldest standing structure in Broward County. Built in 1901 by Franks Stranahan. He was the first postmaster in the area. Unfortunately after the Florida land boom bust in 1926 Frank was left penniless. He committed suicide by jumping into the river and drowning.A week after his death a clock that had stopped working began to work and chime again. His ghost has continued to haunt this building.

His widow, Ivy Stranahan, continued to live in the house until 1971 when she died at the age of 90. Her ghost also haunts this house and visions of her have been seen. In addition, the smell of women’s perfume has been noted in rooms throughout the house.

A Lost Soul tag has been sighted in one of the most haunted places in western Washington - near the Oxford Saloon.

Since it was built in 1900, this place has accumulated a lot of violent history. Ten people died here; two were murdered.

Watch out for the angry ghosts as you search for this tag.

Coords for front of Saloon: N 47° 54.668 W 122° 05.636.

Posted coords are in the spooky back of the building in the dead end alley. Best entry to the alley is from the west.

Tag is taped to top, back side of white plastic pipe filled with cement.

There no need to wander on to private property. It can be reached with feet on the asphalt.

Congrats to spooko for getting the tag. I saw the email come out for it and figured I would try to get it for someone. Figured that I would have a chance since I live 10 min from where it was hidden. I got GZ and started to search. Started to go back to another spot to check when I saw a car pull away. I checked the log and saw that spooko found it. Of course I had to call him and bust on him for not saying anything while I was searching. He was to busy posting the log stating that he found it.

cron publish 11 months 4 weeks ago 057 - Lavinia

Broderick Dr, East Irondequoit, Rochester, NY, US

Thought to have at least a dozen ghosts, the land that the Reunion Inn stands on was once owned by Sylvester Woodman and his wife Abigail.

Captain Woodman, a retired sea captain and rumored ex-pirate, on February 1, 1819, bought 100 acres and most of the shoreline John Hornby. Captain Woodman built a simple wooden farmhouse and farmed the fertile land. The road the home was built on was later named Woodman Road. Abigal died in 1830 and her body was laid to rest just a few hundred yards from the home. Sylvester would later be buried beside his wife.

During Woodmans ownership, the town of Irondequoit was founded in 1839 and the property, once in Brighton, was now officially part of Irondequoit.

The Reunion Inn was built in the early 1850's by Irondequoit town supervisor Captain Samuel Waldo Bradstreet VI. Captain Woodman had bought 212 acres from Humphrey Woodman, which today is known as the Sea Breeze. He tore down the old Woodman farmhouse, kept the fieldstone foundation, and built a then-modern two-story brick home with cupola which they officially moved into on October 17, 1856. Bradstreet and his wife Lavinia maintained their grand farm, which in 1850 was valued at $15,700. Captain Bradstreet died young at 46, leaving his wife a widow with eight children.

The Woodman-Bradstreet cemetery, as it was now called, became the final resting place for Samuel and Lavinia, and their son Samuel and his wife Lottie. Additionally, there are burials during the Bradstreet ownership for neighbor Watson Ewer and his wife Susannah Ewer, and their children Adelia and Susan.

There are rumors that the Bradstreet home was a stop on the underground railroad, as well as a speakeasy during prohibition. In the 1930's, the structure transferred from private home to mix use. Its history since has included apartments, restaurants, and bars. At some point in its history, Woodman Road was re-named. By an 1887 map, Woodman Road was now Sea Breeze Road. Later, it was re-named again Culver Road. The last remnant of the Woodmans is now where Culver Road meets a road named Woodman Park.

In 1960 and 1961, the town of Irondequoit decided to move the Woodman-Bradstreet cemetery plots to the larger Irondequoit Cemetery just up the road to free up the space for business growth across from Sea Breeze Amusement Park. Sal's Hotdog Stand was the first to use the old cemetery space. However, with several of the interments being over 100 years old, it is likely they didn't dig up much if anything and just moved the stones.

The Reunion Inn opened in 1971.

The Reunion Inn today is home to several ghosts. At least one of the ghosts is a former resident, believed to be Mrs. Lavinia Bradstreet. Three of the ghosts are rumored to be former slaves who may have been using the Reunion Inn as a stop on the underground railroad. One ghost is quite possibly the former owner of Hallie's Steak House, the eccentric Mr. Hallie. One of the current owners has seen a red-headed female spirit.

Voices, trays flying off the shelves, chilling touches and apparitions have all been reported.

In 1973, one of the owners tells of when he was down in the basement, changing a keg, and a hand with “boney” fingers tugged on his arm. “It was pretty scary ... I locked myself in the walk-in cooler until I couldn’t stand the cold anymore, and I never told anyone until six months later, when another employee tells me the same story."

One enduring mystery is that of a large boulder in the basement. Some believe the stone may indicate the Woodmans lost a child young before baptism and buried him or her on the property. Alternately, some believe this stone could indicate this home was a stop on the underground railroad, while others believe it may have hid the family's valuables during a time where banks weren't available.

The history of the cathedral is linked with that of the city, and is allegedly located where the patron saint of Glasgow, Saint Mungo, built his church. The tomb of the saint is in the lower crypt.

Built before the Reformation from the late 12th century onwards and serving as the seat of the Bishop and later the Archbishop of Glasgow, the building is a superb example of Scottish Gothic architecture. It is also one of the few Scottish medieval churches (and the only medieval cathedral on the Scottish mainland) to have survived the Reformation not unroofed.

cron publish 11 months 4 weeks ago 007 - The Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog

B797, Scotland, GB

This unpredictable "bunny" may look cute and cuddly on the outside, but inside, it is a monstrous killing machine. In spite of its bloodthirstiness and brutality, the rabbit appeared to be cunning at least for animal standards: When killing, it often targets the vital parts of its victim's body to make a fast killing. Unlike regular rabbits, the mouth of the Rabbit of Caerbannog is full of razor-sharp canines which are similar with that of cats or other carnivorous animals.

The Rabbit of Caerbannog is surprisingly swift, violent, agile, deadly, aggressive, bloodthirsty, and carnivorous in close quarters. When attacking multiple foes, it quickly jumps to another target soon after swiftly attacking the first and giving those who fight it no chance to stop it. The only way to kill it is through distance, with a Holy Hand Grenade. It is unknown if other weapons like crossbows or arrows also work against it.

E Empire Ave, Bemiss, Spokane, WA, US

Heading

SPOKANE, Wash. - First there was Jack the Ripper, than Robert Yates and now, Donna Perry? The world has seen its fair share of prostitute murderers, but none with a past like Perry's.

Donna Perry, formerly known as Douglas Perry, is being looked at as the person of interest for a cold case that involves the murders of three local prostitutes.

In 1999 when Perry flew to Bangkok, Thailand that he underwent gender reassignment surgery and changed his name from Donald Perry , to Donna Perry.

A transgender woman accused of being a serial killer is blaming the 1990 murders of three prostitutes in Washington State on Douglas Perry, the person she identified as before her transition. Donna Perry, 62, told police in 2012 in an affidavit filed in Spokane Superior Court that she had gender reassignment surgery in Thailand, and when a person transitions from male to female, "there's a great downturn in violence."

She also told police that she intentionally had the operation, which she underwent in 2000, "as a permanent way to control violence."

In a case that has been cold for more than two decades, the affidavit filed Jan. 14 says Perry was linked through DNA evidence to the killings of Yolanda Sapp, Kathleen Brisbois and Nickie Lowe, whom police say were prostitutes.

Police allege that Perry shot the women and left their naked bodies on the banks of the Spokane River. She was arrested earlier this year and served jail time for federal weapons charges. Police say they matched Perry's fingerprints to the crime scenes, according to the affidavit.

The accused's reported defense that it was not Donna Perry but Douglas Perry who killed the women is headline-grabbing, but not necessarily a true reflection of how transgender people view their nonconforming identity, according to mental health experts.

When detectives interviewed Perry and asked why the murders had stopped, she replied, "Douglas didn't stop, Donna stopped it," according to the affidavit. Since then, Perry said she is "paranoid and emotional but won't hurt anybody."

"I'm not going to admit I killed anybody, I didn't. Donna has killed nobody," she told police. When pressed if "Doug did" the killings, Perry replied, "I don't know if Doug did or not, it was 20 years ago and I have no idea whether he did or did not," according to the affidavit.

As for Perry' claim that sex surgery stems violence, experts say there is no evidence that accompanying hormone therapy plays a role in diminishing it.

He is also critical of the way in which Perry's case reinforces negative stereotypes about those who are transgender.

This is not about that part of [Perry's] identity, it's about being a murderer."

A park ranger stopped and asked what we were doing. He accepted the explanation and went on his way. After some more searching, ForestGhost found the fire tag and then I spotted the tag hanging just above his head. He graciously let me have the tag.
